Day eight started with a green smoothie, cherries, and Cocoa Almond Plantain Pancakes out of the The PPC. They pancakes were good and naturally sweet because of the plantains. But I think I burned them a bit as they weren’t as pretty as the cookbook picture. I’ll try them again though..

Then I met my boyfriend Tom and Adam at Euston Station and we headed to Watford for the HARRY POTTER STUDIO TOUR
!! It was amazing and if you ever visit/live in or around London. Go. I’m a huge Harry Potter fan and the tour exceeded my expectations tenfold.

We left at around 1:30 and as we all met up at the station we were all hungry for lunch. None of the shops had anything quick and easy for me to eat except fruit, so I grabbed a thing of grapes and a banana. I’ve been eating fruit this whole time, I’m not sure if it was because I hadn’t eaten in a while or if grapes hold more sugar than, say, apples and bananas, but after I ate the grapes I had a huge sugar buzz. I didn’t feel very good. There was a small convenient store in the Watford station I thought perhaps they’d have almonds or beef jerky or some kind of protein I could eat to stabilize my blood sugar. Nope, nothing.

The buzz soon faded as we walked about the studios where they filmed all seven Harry Potter movies. I still felt hungry so I munched on my banana. I knew halfway through the tour there was a snack place to get butter beer and ice-cream. After wandering around for about two hours I was so hungry that I thought I’d settle for butter beer and ice-cream if that’s all then had. Luckily it was a full cafeteria and I ordered a hamburger without the bun. I ate it between two pieces of lettuce and that was my late lunch.

After the tour, Adam went with me to a gig and when we finally made it home at 10pm he made us eggs. I embellished mine with a left over sweet potato and turkey meatloaf. Going to the Harry Potter Studio Tour might be one of the best things I’ve done since moving to London, but it did make me realize. I should always have a small bag of almonds in my bag incase I can’t get to the food I want. Another mistake like that might lead me to eating the wax food set out in The Great Hall.
